I recently paid my Soaring Society of America
membership and I received a niece letter of THANKS and here is your membership
card which shows me as member since 1974!!!. A note next to card
says
This is your new SAA Membership card which also
serves as your FAI Sporting Licence. When signed this licence is
valid in all countries represented by the FAI. The licence must be
produced in order to take part in World contests and World and National
Records
Please do not take this as a criticism of GFA but
it would seem we are giving GFA officials and comp organizers unnecessary
work in issuing a separate licence and comp organizers policing that
entrants have same.
