Brian As the wheel brake is operated by a Bowden
cable, it should not be too difficult to relocate to, say, a caliper on the
stick (although there may be insufficient clearance to the instrument panel for
such an arrangement). You would
need to use two cables if you want front and rear calipers. You should also be aware that the cable prevents
the airbrakes from slamming against the stops, so it is unadvisable to do what
you propose as worn stops can lead to the airbrakes jamming open. I improved the cable adjustment of my Twin
by glassing a more robust attachment for the Bowden cable to the cockpit wall (the
original attachment was made from thin metal that would flex when under tension
and made adjustment difficult).
Since then it has been quite easy to tension the cable and improve
braking efficiency. Regards Christopher Thorpe -----Original Message----- Is anyone aware of a mod
and/or engineering drawings that result in the relocation of the Twin Astir
wheel brake function away from the extremity of travel of the air brake handle? TIA Brian -- Win a fully furnished
