Time for some talk of flying. North Queensland Soaring Centre members arrived at the field, greeted by a cold and very windy day. There were students galore and three AEFs so circuits seemed to be the order of the day.

By mid day the wind dropped and it was clear that moderate thermals were everywhere, topping out at around 4500ft. All of the students who needed upper air work were pleased, as some of them flew for several hours. All of the AEFs had the flights of their lives, and then the single seaters elected to have some fun, all flying for around 2 to three hours a piece. Six gliders in all flew almost 17 hours.

North Queensland, winter soaring heaven!!
