Hi Mark

Southern Cross Gliding Club have a brand new two seater DG-1000 (S/N 14,
the first of its kind in Australia !) plus Komet trailer coming from the DG
factory in Bruchsal (Sth Germany) some time around the end of September /
early October depending on how fast the factory can finish it. By my
estimates it will take around 5 weeks after that time to reach Australia.

We were under the impression that a 40ft container might only fit our
glider and trailer in it, and not much more, though of course we would love
to be proven wrong.

Tom Gilbert, the new Australian DG representative and our local all-round
gliding workshop good guy at Camden, is currently in Germany for
competitions and I believe will visit the DG factory while across there.

Perhaps he (or others on this list) will have a better handle on exactly
what will (and won't) fit in a 40ft shipping container. I confess to being
totally container illiterate.

Of course, if there are others on this list who are looking to ship
possibly smaller gliders (singles), or perhaps parts, back from Germany /
Europe in a similar time frame, we'd love to here from you too in case we
can better utilise the container space.

Regards
