Yes, Jason (and others), Kwells are still around, still taste just as bad, and still work. They were actually first suggested to me by Maurie Bradney after I made a precautionary air-sickness-induced landing while attempting my first 300k out of Waikerie in around 1973 in a Boomerang. Boomerangs, Kwells and I are still around, sadly Maurie is no longer with us.
That was actually the flight from which I had my first fly in a Pawnee - as a passenger while someone else did the aerotow retrieve in the Boomerang. And the Pawnee was a single seater. Now that's another story...
