I remember a string about a year ago on this list about the merits of
the then current AD277 (Issue 5) - Testing of Releases. The general
consensus back then was that the requirement to fully test Tost
releases every 4 years or 2000 launches was crap. Well it seems that
Mr Tost and his mates might have been listening (I doubt it but
anyway)
For those who are interested and for those who do not know
already, AD277 has been re-issued as Issue 6. The requirement to
fully test Tost releases every 4 years has now been downgraded to a
recommendation only. The requirement to fully test Tost releases
every 2000 launches and all other parts of the old AD remain.
"Hurray" say I ! (As someone who has witnessed more
"maintenance" related failures than I should have.) Common sense
prevails at last! And "good on ya" Tost and The GFA.
My Motto - If it ain't broke don't fix it!

For all the details and your copy of the new AD contact the
GFA. - They got my copy to me within 2 days. Another example of
the GFA looking after Aussi glider pilots.-
My GFA subscription = Money well spent I reckon.

Signed - Yours in Maintenance and flame-thrower at the
ready.Andrew Wright (VH GAM)
