The VW5 was an earlier vario than the VW3. The difference is that it does
pitot/static total energy where the VW3 uses a TE probe(better).
While with a lot of pain and effort you may get this all to work but really
your best option is to get a couple of nice flat polished rock slices and
glue each of the varios to them and create a nice unique set of paper
weights for your office desk.
I'm not kidding just trying to help. Varios have got a lot better and
easier to install and get working than the two you mention.
