I think that's good advice. While I've never bought or sold a glider, I have had a lot of experience with sailing boats where there is an old saying that "every boat is for sale". It's just a matter of timing and a reasonable offer. Boats that are formally advertised are only a portion of the available market. If the parallel applies to aircraft, and I'm sure it does, just talk to the owners of the type of glider you want. If you're serious about buying, there will be a goodly proportion who would be serious about selling.
