Ian,
The NSW child protection legislation applies to children up to 16. The NSW Dept of Sport and Recreation has a guide at http://www.dsr.nsw.gov.au/publicat/p_detail.asp?Pub_id=53

Subject: [Aus-soaring] RE Dealing with young people and fire est

Does anybody know a requirement (NSW Gov I think) requiring clubs who have members under 18 years old to have a policy of dealing with young people and Instructors are to have a clearance from some department to instruct such people.  If you do not have a policy then there is the usual fine

On a different topic I have heard there is going to be a replacement for the BCF fire extinguishes soon and you must carry the rego of a/c on the BCF fire ext and if that ext is found in another use other than a/c then there is $10000 fine.  Any knowledge out there?
