To add one more items to Mark's critique of the Joey Glide site, no search
engine will be able to get into the site to index its contents.
So JoeyGlide.com will remain a hidden site on the Internet for anyone who
tries to find it without knowing its name ("Now let me see, is it
JoeyGlide.com.au, or maybe JoeyGlide.org, or ..." ), or to those who might
key in "youth gliding competitions in Australia" into their favourite search
engine and would otherwise be able to come find it without knowing its name
(or even that it existed).
Plain old HTML is fast to download, accessible to all browsers and OS
platforms without relying on plugins, and can be indexed by the search engine
spiders/robots, which is why it's the lingua franca of the Internet and why
Flash is not.
