Maybe the law needs to be changed.

When I flew in NZ, ground level fast finishes were the norm
at the end of the task.  When I asked how they could do that
legally, they pointed to the senior NZ CAA guy climbing out
of his glider.

Now that I'm in Germany flying at quite busy airports, I see
sensible use of airspace only when its needed leaving lots
of room still for gliders.

Anyone else feel we might be over regulated?  (Ducks for
cover)

I've also driven with no speed limit on roads that were no
better (worse even with more traffic) than many freeways in
Australia and ridden a bicycle without a helmet.  We've not
had to show documentation for comps entry, just sign to say
we had it.  There is a lot more personal responsibility and
accountability here.  I had preconceptions that Germany
would be very regulated compared to us slack Aussies but
guess what!

I suspect laws are more about covering regulators bums that
common sense, or maybe they are over-reaction?
