Precisely. But that's an issue for another forum.
However, I think that you are seriously mischaracterising the 40-50 year
old cohort.
Maybe in Queensland and probably not the bunch that have the where-with-all to turn up to a gliding club, but in SA the general great-unwashed out there are apparently different. Let me relate an example: for the sake of marital harmony, I relent every few years and allow my wife to drag me to a shopping mall on a weekend. I'm talking Westfield size here. Apart from the car parks being absolutely chockers, the message that comes across from the multitudes filling the inside of these places is that it is obvious that the ravenous hordes are shovelling all manner of excessive kilojoules into their front orifice which is contributing largely to their barrellesk shape. It seems that most people have a pretty sad life if all they can find to do is come to these places.

I also have to apologise for some language I used in my initial note. It was 'sedentary activity' - an oxymoron if ever there was one!

And Robert, I can only but look back at the 40 - 50 decade with wistful memories and wish I could be there again.

I hope it is going to be warm in Queensland on Thursday, because I'll be there and if anyone has an idea how to start an ATC or airline pilot strike, so that I can be trapped there at company expense for a few days to soak up some warmth, I'd appreciate a quick response.

Good thermals,
