Yes and no.  Legal definitely.

The CASA licence is in perpetuity.  A valid medical and a BFR is all it takes.  It might take a few lessons to get current again for the FBO to determine you're safe before they rent you a 'plane.

I got a RPPL nearly 15 years ago and said "Is that all there is?" and didn't fly for 10 years but then found gliding three years ago.  Wonderful to be back in the air again!  And then, like above, I'm back up in bug-smashers again, towing and flying on days (and nights) I can't glide.

In a post about spinning C172s Alan Wilson said "Nothing like gliding" - but it is!  It's all flying!  The control inputs are the same, the spin recovery is the same (except don't worry about retarding the throttle), the circuits are similar.  That's why it took me only 14 glider flights to go solo.  And contrary to someone from Boonah recently posting, I did get given emergencies.

Cath,
Mine is in a folder with DCA on it - is that still valid.

SDF

So is mine - endorsed for Auster (except J5/F) and valid to 28.2.56.

So I get a medical and a biennial review/conversion to something similar and bingo - current again ???
