Well, I know what Ive read. Ive been to the French Alps, and accidents in mountain flights seem to be very common. Not acceptable, but frequent....5 deaths in 2 weeks...Very sad...
One collision in flight where 2 pilots couldnt eject (the other one did) and other pilot crashed a post which was used to prevent snow falls (avalanches?). The sad thing is that the father of one victim was the winner of that day. Mountain flights are dangerous....You have to know the path in order to win. And foreigners in France (all deads were foreigners, Belgium and Swiss)) risk their lives in a huge championship like this. Not counting the different glider speeds, wind factor, proximity to obstacles in mountain soared flights.

Aren't the next World Club Class comps in France?
