I do not think you are comparing the same issues here, Gawler is offering a formal week of training and opportunity with an infrastructure to accommodate that, tugs, o/e’s, briefings and possibly weather analysis whilst Temora has no such structured event. Both are lovely places and the pork rolls at Temora are an unexpected bonus DG400

Bernard, That’s a big call.
On the same week I can go to Temora – just 2 hours away by road, achieve everything you have outlined except maybe the “best bakery” - allowing that the bakery is a parochial subjective assessment.
Temora offers every thing Gawler does plus for the campers at the airfield to be woken up by the crackle of a RR Merlin engine as David Lowe warms up prior to practicing aerobatics in his Spitfire while you watch and eat breakfast.
We are blessed with many great Gliding sites – Gawler is just one of them, so is Temora, Narromine, Bunyan etc etc Does it really matter where you’re doing it, as long as you are.
