Emilis

I was ready to pay you a visit on Sunday.
When I was told that the show was off I went
for a 500km out and return instead.

Total time airborne was under 4 hours.

I'm just mentioning it to show how good the
soaring conditions were.

Subject: [Aus-soaring] got it wrong

My thanks to all the people who offered support for the gathering
planned for Pallamana over the weekend.
The weather on the weekend days was great.

The reason the sign said - 'deferred due to bad weather'
included -
- the Thursday and Friday when we wanted to move gear in was
persistently wet and windy and we couldn't get tug or sailplanes in
- the hangar we were previously offered ended up being full of
palettes which were late exiting out for similar reason, so were
still there, and it did rain Sat night
- for the same weather reasons, the geosurvey plane (a Furgo) was
intended to be gone but was still there, and along with its fuel dump
was taking up the area hoped for the flightline display.
Friday afternoon the decision was to precautionarily cancel.
I got it wrong.
