Yawn! Knew the other bits, but would like to hear the good
story.
BTW somebody used "loosing" instead of "losing" on the
list today. Can't remember who.
Recent Ed Min comments may have some
validity.

While Mikes hints about
starboard/larboard(port) and riding horses on the left of the road have
some basis in history, the story of the shuttle and the horses bums is just a
good story. Plausible on the face of it but essentially not true (at
least, the explicit links in the story are not true).
