Bob Rowe flew GQG and Malcom Jinks as a 20 year old flew another of which I was a crew member.
In 1965 they had a competition amongst all the standard class gliders at the World comp to select the Worlds Best Standard Class glider and the ES60 came second to the British Dart.
Tommy Thompson was my crew chief and a better tutor I could not have had. His son Jeremy and daughter in law Jenny are now carry on the Thompson tradition of competitive competition flying.
Forty years later history is repeating its self and Australia will again be sending young Australians under 26 to compete at world competitions in Britain. I hope they enjoy them selves as much as I did.

Something I forgot to post on the day. All of you that have enjoyed time in Boomerangs might like to know that the type reached 40 years of age on 28/11/04.
I have the first prototype GQG and it's first flight was on 28/11/1964.
