Yo fellow Aviators!

Despite what Caleb wrote (securing gliders in Argentina) – After many brilliant seasons flying in Argentina, I have found that the locals are friendly!!! We at Chos Malal (Ar) have never had security issues and that includes Steve Fossett and team plus heaps of expensive ‘junk’ (2 X ASH 25 etc etc).

As Mike Borgelt says, the clear-view lockable thingy is pretty much standard practice around the world. Some use, some don’t.

The Ventus 2cm that you saw belongs to German eight-time world record holder (and great guy) Diether Memmert who does indeed tend to fly out of San Martin de Los Andes (where most of the German glider pilots fly from when they are in AR). There are other brilliant places to fly from in Ar..  for example have a look at http://www.patagoniagliding.org.ar/index.html  Also I have posted a photo of Diether’s snazzy glider there…

And come over and experience the best wave flying in the world!!!!

Fly high, fly long, fly fast and fly safely

Rick
