That got reviewed in an extensive article in "New Scientist" last week.
Several pages bemoaning "how could Crichton get it so wrong?". Turns out
the article was written by one Jeremy Leggett, who according to the
article, is chief executive of Solarcentury the UK's largest independent
solar electric company and a member of the UK government's Renewables
Advisory Board.
Of course he's got no agenda.
I'm tempted to write to the magazine and point out the editorial error in
putting out too early an article clearly intended for the April 1 issue.
Whether it is security, environmental catastrophe or anything else, when
dealing with any group with coercive powers(governments)it is best to
assume they are lying until you have hard evidence that they aren't. The
agenda is usually other than the stated one.
