Within that I fully support the intent and its attraction outcomes. 
Bits of the puzzle toward that are the existing 'maggot racing' 
reviews of data logger traces (used in coaching sessions) and the 
'virtual racing' between remote competitors using SFS.

I agree a desirable direction to have both uniform hardware and 
software/training sequences.
Any offers from lurkers out there toward hands-on progression of 
hardware spec and training sequence syllabus' common ground.
