I would have to agree with Mark, this list is unlikely to be populated by the un-initiated.

If I was writing for our local newspaper, I dare say much of the language I used would have been incomprehensible. It is surprising how much jargon we use. Even the term 'inversion' is lost to most of the ground-hogs. Try explaining that to them and watch the eyes glaze over.

There is a term for it but I can't think what it is, where OUR culture has terms with opposite meaning:

Tall people called Shortie
Virgin Blue have red aircraft, from:
Red-haired people being called Bluey
White cats called Blackie

etc. etc.

And they are all terms of endearment. If other cultures find that difficult then - tough!

Or has bloody political correctness even cast that into the bin of no-no's?
