Hi Adam and Dave,
Sorry, my last message "got away" before I had written
anything!
Congratulations on the manner in which you have prepared
yourselves for your coming adventures.
There are some things in life that you can only do once - and
being the first Australians to compete in a World Junior Gliding Comp is one of
them.
Make the most of the opportunity, take lots of photos, compete
sensibly and, most of all, enjoy the experience.
With best wishes to you both
Brian

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Blast Off
G'day All,
Well
it's only a few days to go now until Dave and I Blast off to the UK!
Sunday morning of the 3rd, we'll be out of Brisbane International -
heading for Seoul for a night. Then 1300hrs the following day, where
on our B747-400 flight to Terminal 3 @ Heathrow!
It's all come
around very quick, and are both (as you could imagine) excited to be
heading over..
In Brief, Dave and I have been lucky enough to be
all set up from the time we arrive until the date of departure. Dave
securing Clive Bruce's LS-8 for the Bicester Regionals (9-17th July,
http://www.windrushers.org.uk/Competitions.htm
) as well as mid-week in the lead-up to the World Champs. I too have
been lucky enough to get an ASW-19 for the Bicester Regionals of Adam
Laws, Jay Rebbecks LS-8 for mid-week flying, and Derek Westwood's (deputy
CD, and regular to Oz) LS-8 for the duration of the Worlds..
Clive
has also been kind enough to arrange a car for Dave and I, for the entire
period OS. Along with this, we've managed to secure caravans through
my Cheif-Crew, Max Kirschner. Just the other day, Tom Smith (UK
Junior that went on the George Lee Course with Anne-Maree) and Luke Tiller
(1/2 Oz, 1/2 Kiwi) have both put up their hands to crew for us at the
Bicester Regionals, which has been a huge relief.
Paul Mander has
been instrumental in getting this years Junior World Team to where it is
today - very relaxed, motivated and keen to do our best! All we
pretty much need to do, is have FUN and focus on the task at
hand!
Adam "Charlie" I'Anson, has been a champion as
always. We've been in regular contact over the past 3-4 months, and
were all communicating really well - where going to have alot of fun
together!
Thanks again to all you supporters out there, you've made
this all happen for us!
If you want to send Dave and I a few
messages, words of advice, what's happening back home, 'go boys go' sort
of messages during the lead-up and the World Championships - then please
send to this address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
we'd love to hear from you during our period OS (my and Daves first
time OS)...
3 more sleeps until Blast Off, Husbands
