[Aus-soaring] Stirlings Diamond Wave Camp

Good News!   Sent: Sunday, 24 July 2005 7:48 AM Subject: Wave camp Summary   Congratulations to Dave Goillon and Dave Griffith on achieving their Diamond heights. Kevin Saunders and Charles from Cunderdin achieved the same height in Charles motor glider (Ximango). The Wave progressively got stronger over three days.  The 1st day Dave Griffith and myself climbed to 9,500 Ft. On the second day Dave Griffith and I climbed to 19,800 Ft and Dave Goillon out landed in Bryant’s Paddock. On the third day it was my turn to land in Bryant’s Paddock. There was some good rig soaring on the Bluff on the Sunday and on Trio on the last Thursday.   Thanks to all those who helped with trailer towing, deployment, instructing & tugging. I would like to especially thank Lowrie Dixon who came down three times and twice just to help tow trailers. I hope to see more of the newer members at the camp next year as it is a great experience for flying in “very” challenging conditions and the scenery is magnificent.   Ian Cook
