Don,
If the Bull Creek Museum and Channel 7 wish to part with the Gull there is
no doubt the best place for it is with the Aust Gliding Museum. The team
would be more than happy to organise its collection and subseqent
restoration. It was hoped the GB would have come to the Museum as well and
maybe this could be arranged in the future. The A.G. Museum is going from
strength to strength and the work they are doing is absolutely fantastic. My
only concern is the restorations aren't faithful, THE GLIDERS ARE BETTER
THAN NEW.
If you want any contact numbers please let me know.
Trust all is well over there. Alan is off to the IVSM in the US in Aug. He
is keeping well and at least he isn't driving accross the US this time.
Cheers
Ian Patching.

G'day all,
The Gull that is in the museum is owned by my employer (Channel Seven
Perth). If anybody is interested in getting hold of the Gull I may be able
to assist.

John and Redmond,
Bull Creek does have the Gull 1 and the Kingy. The glider that you think
is
strutted could be the Grunau 2 ex syndicate in WA who were going to
donate
the glider to the AGM and for some reason it just went to Bull Creek. From
what I have been told there was some thought in the gliders at Bull creek
being moved to the AGM once they have a site. We can only hope this will
happen. John your old skylark, and my dads, has dissappeared. The rego is
now on a H-36 Dimona, somewhat ironically with a VMFG member, given the
history of the original GFG.
It would be good to find the remains of GFG, I understand it was together,
and was to be restored but it just didn't happen.
Cheers

My old aircraft a Skylark II GFG is supposedly over there somewhere with
the
tail cut off. I believe it was sold to the airforce cadets. I'd be
interested to know what happened to it if you see it.

John

I wandered thro the Bull Creek museum on Saturday.
ES57 Kingfisher GRE is suspended from the roof of the main civil aviation
display space.
I didn't see it on Saturday, however I have previously seen a Slingsby
Gull
in the museum. Their literature still talks of this aircraft. I
remember
it had Sydney University or some such label on it.
There is also another glider awaiting restoration. It is in pretty
ragged
condition. I didn't recognise the type, however it was a single seater,
wood/fabric, high wing, strutted machine.
The Bull Creek museum is run by the Air Force Association. It is well
worth
a visit. The civil aviation section is slightly WA oriented. The
military
section includes Vampire, Spitfire, Lancaster, Dakota, Neptune and
Macchi.
There are moves afoot to move the museum from Bull Creek (south of town)
to
Whitemans (north of town). Apparently the museum will be shut down for 6
months during the move.

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Gliders in WA museum
My power-flying son has seen some reference to a couple of gliders in a
museum in WA, and wondered if I knew anything about them. I don't but I'm
sure someone here can help. The description he gave me was;
"A topic on a message board I read asked about the identity of 2 gliders
at
Bull Creek Aviation Heritage Museum in Perth, WA. Apparently one is brown
and white and marked with 'RE'. The other was thought to be a Slingsby
Gull
with blue/white wings."
Any takers...
