Is ADSB implemented in USA and/or Canada yet ? I can't see how this gadjet would work otherwise, and there is no mention in the "blurb" that ADSB needs to be implemented. Regarding cost of base stations, I guess the ones Airservices are buying cost a lot more than USD900, but then they are looking for high reliability, and wide environmental survivability plus remote control and monitoring of the station, which adds some complexity. Still cost *way* less and have much lower maintenance costs than a secondary radar installation.
