Because I’m planning to retire as a scorer after this season, I have done some work to create SeeYou scoring scripts that work for Australian National competition rules. I have placed these scripts on the SeeYou website and will have them on the GFA website in a couple of days.
I have tested these scripts against the Dalby and Waikerie Nationals from last season and they produce correct results for those competitions. This does not mean of course, that they will necessarily work for other competitions without modifications, nor do I guarantee that I’ve tested every possible situation even in the Nationals. And while SeeYou seems to work pretty well you should not assume that scoring is a doddle no matter what program you use.
I am offering these scripts on an “as-is” basis. I am not an expert in SeeYou and while I now have some idea how scoring should be done in SeeYou I can’t take any responsibility for it. The best place to get support for SeeYou is the SeeYou website - I have found the support people there to be very helpful.
I an happy to send the scripts to anyone who wants them. They are not mine, they are open-source and you can do anything you wish with them. I’m happy to talk or email to anyone about what I did and what I know from years of being a scorer. However, that’s where it will stop – it is the scorers responsibility to decide what program to use for scoring and to make sure that the program operates according to the rules.
