In the FLYING magazine of many years past, there used to be (may still be -
I haven't bought one for years) a column called "I learned about flying from
that ...". The Air Safety Digest runs a similar series, ie, short stories
on "dramas". Some time ago, there was also a thread on aus.aviation titled
"own anecdotes" which followed a similar vein.
Obviously, the authors lived, to be able to tell their tales, some amusing,
some, sobering.
The value of all these write ups is both educational (for newbie's) and
revisional (for those who can say - been there - done that - nearly !).
Winter is receding.
Summer is approaching.
How many need a few mind joggers ?
Perhaps encouraging people to write about their own "incidents", "scares",
"close shaves", etc, may be of some use ?
