Glenn (and others),
The "From" field that we see as recipients is controllable by
you, the sender. In most Microsoft Windows systems it is found in
(eg) Outlook Express under Tools > Accounts (select an account) >
Properties > User Information > Name.
In Outlook (ie not Outlook Express) the words might be a little
different but you will find it ('change' instead of 'properties'
etc).
Don't mess with the other settings as they are likely to upset
things operationally!!
In these days of intense spamming it is a very good idea to make
this NAME entry as clear as possible or people may dismiss your
email without even looking further.

How hard would it be to publish at least a brief summary of
accidents and
incidents in the magazine?

I agree with you about the tone of "Blackbird Pilot", but he does

point. All your thorough investigation will finish up in a good
report, but
it will be filed at GFA and never see the light of day
thereafter. There
should be a regular safety column in AS with summaries of
accidents, as in
the BGA "Sailplane & Gliding"
