GCV Benalla - still a few hrs from Melbourne, but good XC options and on-site accommodation in huts. Think they still fly mid-week, but it's been a few years since I was there and there have been some changes.
The Benalla Festival is on at that time

The festival I think runs for a little over 2 weeks.Yep, mid week tugs still a go, huts still a go, at least 1 or 2 two seaters available.
