I believe that John Absolon (Qantas pilot and ex-RAAF Hornet pilot) acquired the Australian dealership for the Sprit and imported a kit which he started to build. After a few years, his wife was tired of seeing the unfinished kit in the house and sold it to Mike Maddocks of the Boonah Club who has arranged for a sailplane repairer in Qld (I can't remember who) to finish it off.
