Unfortunately, whilst that does give sounding data, it only gives it for places where there are actual soundings taken. What was being asked about was the possibility of getting 'calculated' or 'modelled' sounding data for any point in Australia as most gliding sites don't have a sounding taken right over them.

This is where the NOAA site comes in - see my article at http://www.hart.wattle.id.au/alice/gliding/SkewT-logPexplain.html for information on how to obtain this and use it.

I have just updated that page to include a new table giving pressure (hPa) vs height in 500 ft increments to make it easier to work out the height from the pressure (which is what is plotted on the SkewT/LogP diagram. This uses the NASA model for the standard atmosphere (see references in the table itself).
