While shopping at a Priceline store (in Bourke Rd, Camberwell in Melbourne) I noticed gift boxes for sale. Amongst the gift boxes were Dinner flights in a DC3, Flights in an old Warplane, Flights in a Tiger Moth, Balloon Flights and Helicopter pilot lessons. At this shop there were no gift boxes for a Glider Flight.
Most of the prices to me seemed very high but I'm not sure of their normal price. Most boxes seemed to include other things thrown in such as a digital camera as well as the voucher for the flight etc. Most of the gift boxes I looked at stated that the flight was currently available from Melbourne but they were about to arrange the same from Sydney.
To me this looks like a very good way to market these. I think that a few gliding clubs should look at the concept as an additional way to market gliding. Has anyone looked at making a similar gift box of glider flights and marketing it city stores?
