For the past 25 years International Reaction
Lacquer Surf White (with tinting by Klaus B to make it like Gel Cote) has been
used on gliders and is still perfect to this day - I have always said when I go
to the Yacht shop and find they change from International (for
fiberglass) then I will change. Now they have changed and brought out
a new paint called International "Perfection". It is totally
different to all other 2 pack Polyurethane paints and the is extremely slow at
drying. I think it may NOT be suitable for gliders. International
gave me the impression that they are phasing out RL but they did have it in
6 litre Kits. They have good tech support with their Customer care number
- I will talk to them
Seems like the end of an era after all these years
(I do know IID-LS4 and UKM- VentusA were done 25 years ago and Peter Holmes and
Chris Kiehn would have Reaction Lacquer on many refinished gliders-should be in
Log book )
