Thank you Ian
That was the gist of a personal presentation I made to GFA Council (now the Board) in 1990
a presentation made to the GFA Executive by the SAGA executive in 1996
and I believe a presentation made to the GFA Executve by GQ representatives in Queensland last year.

Action speaks for itself.
This was indeed raised at the GQ AGM in 2005 and Bob Hall agreed to action this - see the extract from the minutes below.

IX.               Club Membership

Grant Harper

·        It possible that people can be a member of the GFA and not a member of the club.

Hank Meertens

·        Will check but we rely on clubs to cross check that members belong to nominated club.

Grant Harper proposed that “The GFA investigate ways to ensure that GFA members are also members of affiliated clubs”. Seconded by Jenny Thompson.

Motion carried.

Lindsay Mitchell

·        Why not send a GFA renewal after 3 months as per 12 months?

Bob Hall

·        Agreed to action.

As the new GFA Board representative for GQ, I am following this issue up, requesting that it be added to the agenda of the next board meeting.
