Hi All,

As a active Condor and glider pilot I find it better if you want to
fly online using the condor web site server list as this we you meet people
from all over the world (just check the flag on the tail) which is part of
the fun.

However if anybody want to join in we have a group that fly condor
most Tuesdays & Thursday starting around 8pm and other nights by
arrangement. We both host and fly others tasks but if we mostly host our
own. When hosting we start the server name with "Aus".

On the fact about condor pilots not know about the GFA I have meet
very few who have never flown gliders at some stage.

Anyway if you want join us you can send me a email off list or just
join when you see a Aus task up.

Be warned it is addictive I have 270+ hours in my condor log book in
10 months.

regards,
Arie van Spronssen

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Condor soaring simulator in Australia

Hi

At last weekend's GFA board meeting, I demonstrated the Condor soaring
simulator and it attracted a fair bit of interest.

I have suggested that it would be a good idea for the GFA to set up and host
Australian Condor servers (which allow people to fly 'competitions'
online against one another). By hosting these at the GFA (probably on
soaring.org.au) we make sure that people flying Condor in Australia at least
know about the GFA and hopefully will try soaring for real through the GFA.

No decision has yet been made on this matter though - I'll let you know when
I have more info.

At present, there is no Australian scenery pack - although I am aware that
there has been some work done but the project does appear to have gone off
the boil. (Condor scenery packs are limited to 400km x 400km areas, so we
will need several of these to provide for our 'favourite'
gliding areas around Australia).

I'm therefore looking for people with computer graphics skills who might be
interested in joining an online team creating Australian scenery for Condor.

If people here know of anyone who might be interested or who have contacts
into University or TAFE computing programs that might be interested in doing
some of this sort of work as a student project, please can they put me in
touch?

Many thanks.
