Some more from the boys in New Zealand
Hi all. yesterday was an amazing day. The weather forecast looked good, although not as good as it turned out to be. Todd and I both took a journey up to Mt Cook and ridged soared that for a while. We used wave to get there. Todd had oxygen issues at 15000 so had to pull the brakes and use ridges to get home, however we continued in wave to almost 21000ft, leaving it at 6kts, mainly due to the cold(-16). >From there i turned off my oxygen (with someone in the back obviously) and proceeded to find that, among other things, my little finger twitches with hypoxia, a rather cool experiment. we then had to descend to 17500 for airspace reasons then when overhead omarama at 15000 we decided to pull the brakes out and cruise around anfd have a look at nearby landing options. some of the strips are amazing, built on mountain spurs so steep you would seriously question if a wheel brake would hold you. Today the weather looks even better, with stronger winds and more thermal activity. should be fun. james. _______________________________________________ Augc-people mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe from this list, visit http://lists.internode.on.net/mailman/options/augc-people Enter your email address (no password required) and click the 'Unsubscribe' button.
