Hi all There has been some discussion at our club about our paid staff and if there are viable alternatives to our current arrangements (i.e. volunteer club members). We have one full time maintenance /instructor /tug pilot person and one office person who works about 20 hours. Our membership is around 140 glider pilots, 30 ultralight pilots and another 30 something members who operate various types other types of aircraft who are club members.
What are other clubs of similar sizes doing? As I see it we can either continue paying a premium for having the staff (about $60K/year) or fly cheaper but at the cost of doing the work ourselves though possibly in a less professional manner. Phil Ritchie
