Rolf, I will be there!
I also fully endorse the rest of your comments – especially the low cost aspect. Juniors usually get a special deal. (Full details from Rolf off-line). Rolf, what you have not said is that generally most paddocks are bigger than the airfield, and very landable, which makes things much easier for the low time pilot. However I can say that even for experienced pilots the tasks can be challenging, and sometimes VERY challenging, and there is and unending variety of conditions, despite the “everlasting sameness of the never ending plains”. These days we still sometimes get 10kn to 10,000’ days under beautiful Cu, just like we often did “in the good olde days”. PS The social scene is not too bad either, regardless of the weather! Most pilots camp on the field, which solves the drink and drive problem. Please see the minutes of the meeting at HYPERLINK "http://www.printerschoice.com.au/Horsham2008" \nhttp://www.printerschoice.com.au/Horsham2008 for your reference. The comp is again endorsed by the GFA. That requires, amongst other conditions, all pilots to have a valid comp licence. There is a write up on the website by Tim Shirley explaining that requirement. Unless you have your glider insured with OAMPS, a document of the insurer must be produced showing the comp endorsment. The required wording is reproduced on the entry form. I am completely aware that those things were not needed for Horsham Week in the past but unavoidingly times and requirements change and I hope the additional "red tape" will not prevent anybody to come. Horsham week is still the lowest cost comp in the country (on the continent really) and we intend to keep it that way. Hope to see you there in numbers - Rolf _____ Check our comprehensive Salary Centre HYPERLINK "http://a.ninemsn.com.au/b.aspx?URL=http%3A%2F%2Fcontent%2Emycareer%2Ecom%2E au%2Fsalary%2Dcentre%3Fs%5Fcid%3D595810&_t=766724125&_r=Hotmail_Email_Taglin e_MyCareer_Oct07&_m=EXT"Overpaid or Underpaid?
