Well here is one opinion for wheel down.
Flight Manual DG1000S 3.12 Emergency landing on water >From the experience with emergency water landing we know that it is likely that the sailplane will dive into the water, cockpit first. Therefore an emergency landing on water should be the last choice. In the case of a water landing, however, extend the landing gear. Subject: Re: [Aus-soaring] Water outlanding near Zar, Poland I have it on good authority from multiple posters on this list that ditching should be performed with the wheel up. I read it here so it must be true. Does anyone have an email address for the pilot so that we can all pile-on and tell him how wrong he was? - mark On 28/04/2008, at 7:51 AM, Derek Ruddock wrote: What about that clear patch on the hill? it’s steep, but not wet J Nice landing btw -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Roger Browne Sent: Sunday, 27 April 2008 8:19 PM To: Discussion of issues relating to Soaring in Australia.
