Except that if I had used the first augment in my Year 11 physics exam I would have been failed. My teacher was adamant that warm air does not rise of it's own accord. It is displaced by cooler (more dense - therefore heavier) air and such phenomena must always be explained in those terms. Accordingly I used the second argument. I passed. Of course the situation may have changed since 1960. Lots of things have. Horse drawn zeppelins were comparatively rare then. These days there seems to one of the damn things in every second thermal!
