Not to mention Emilis' post where he said:
"Thank you Maurice
And as every instructor, coach, club development officer and airframe
GFA member has no doubt received nomination and/or voting papers for these
elections, (departmental heads)
have they not"
The italics are mine.
I have asked appropriate people and have never been able to find out how this
process happens.

Thanks to Maurice for your last reply.
So each State Board Member is elected by maybe 25 - 50 people - or is that
overstating it? Are they "ordinary" members or pre-nominated Club Delegates who
do that electing?
And each Management Board Member is elected by what .... 3 or 5 department
members or maybe a few more?
Wow. I've been wrong. This really is a switched on 21st century operation and
it isn't really stacked at all.
And now I also accept that this is all the fault of the members who don't get
involved. But why would ya with a setup like this?
RH and any others who have had a dip at changing this need a medal & a free
15 knot thermal to 15000 ft. No wonder so many people have a try to reform,
then walk away in disgust and about 1000 members bugger off each year.
So as a result of Maurice's advice I thought I'd also have a look at the
NSWGA AGM Minutes and Board Member selection records etc to bone up on it all.
Does anyone know where the NSW Gliding Association hangs out?
They don't appear to have any web presence and they are not listed as a link
in the GFA site anywhere, so where are they, where do they meet, and when +
where is their AGM?
Can't find 'em in a White Pages search either?
I know that it isn't reasonable to expect a State body with National Board
member election powers to have a website so soon after the internet has been
accepted ...... but can anyone confirm that they really exist, as I was flooded
with reference to the NSW Golf Association and the NSW Gymnastics Association,
but only obscure references to the NSWG(liding)A on 3rd party websites.
Regards Geoff
