Subject: [Aus-soaring] Anyone want a Winch for FREE Hi About 9 years ago the Mareeba Gliding Club folded and their winch was left in a paddock. Before the paddock owners dumped it I went and retrieved it and it is now at my home on the Atherton Tablelands outside Cairns in North Queensland. It has not been touched since it was last used. About 3 years ago I could still turn the motor over by hand. It is a single Drum winch powered by a Ford 302 V8, trailer mounted and weighs about 1.5 tonne. The trailer is only so you can move it about the airfield, you could not tow it on the road. I retrieved it by putting it on a car trailer. If any one wants this winch for FREE just come and get it.
