        Sorry to answer you question with a question but yours is a very
open question.  

No one can really answer your question until we understand what applications
you will be putting 

it to and what your expectations are. Do you want a stand alone unit,
GPS/IGC logger or one that 

supports a PDA.  

 

If you are flying club aircraft seek advice from your club instructors etc -
if you club is like ours we have

wired our club gliders to support a particular brand, in our case Garmin, we
even have two GPS units for 

members without their own to use.  If you are looking to equip your own
aircraft talk to as many owners 

with as many different installations you can. 

 

I don't think there are any bad units out there, just some more suited to
different applications than others.

Having relturned to gliding a couple of years ago after a break of over 25
years I am considering purchasing a gps.

 

Is there a site which gives details on the various makes and models in a
clear and understandable manner without trying to push you towards their own
product?
