Good morning everyone!!!
The coaching panel in SA has organised a free seminar on the psychological
aspects of coaching on Sunday, 10.8.2008. It is conducted by a University
lecturer on sports psychology and it is the first of its kind in Australia.
The GFA is fully funding this seminar which is also open to instructors.
On the weekend I learned that not all instructors know about it and therefore
I’m
taking this opportunity to extend a warm invitation to all instructors on this
list.
Visiting interstate coaches or instructors are also very welcome to attend.

Hi all
Earlier today I have finalised details of the coaching seminar with Kylie Baker
form Go Psych and I’m now pleased to advise as follows:
The seminar will commence at 9:30 am on Sunday, 10.8.2008 at
Adelaide University
Engineering North building
(Chemical engineering, first floor, Room N123)
If you haven’t been there before please feel free to ring me on 0412 981 204 or
Andrew Wright on 0427 976 779 from gate 5 on Frome Road. We will pick you
up from there.
We will have coffee and tee available but no lunch. However, we can walk across
North Terrace as I understand that the David Jones food hall will even be open
on
Sundays. Alternatively you can bring your own lunch.
This seminar is fully funded by GFA and will be the first of its kind in
Australia. It is
imperative that all of us attend and learn more about the psychological aspects
of
coaching and/or instructing. For this reason the seminar is also open to
instructors
and a corresponding invitation was submitted to the RTO (Ops). I understand a
circular was sent to all Club CIF’s and all Level 3 instructors in the state.
Please make it known at your club and ask all fellow instructors to attend. We
can all
benefit from further insights into the psychological aspects and hence make our
work
more efficient and more effective.
Note for coaches:
Please let me know by 25.7.08 if you are NOT attending! Otherwise we will count
you IN.
