You can get a plastic cap to fit the thread of the cylinder -start at
your local hydraulic place, pirtek etc. screw in on hand tight only to
prevent foriegn bits getting in, the pressure changes in flight wont
affect it.
Sorry Wayne, but that just gave me a nervous twitch.
DO NOT USE hydraulic components on an oxy system EVER!!
It is really bad karma! Think oxy fire! The hyd component won't be
clean to
the standard required.
The best course of action if you need to have blanks, is to ask the
supplier
for the valve and the cylinder to be in two separate parts with the proper
blanks.
If someone needs to check or inspect, unscrew it in front of them.
Yes, but you will still need to have the cyl inspected when you get here as
you cannot guarantee it doesn't have and ingress of contaminants (due to
the
lack of positive pressure).
We lost a P-3B Orion due to contaminates in the oxybottle (a small
amount of
free iron, IIRC)
The best method is to get the manufacturer/supplier to ship it out. Yes I
know it is a bit exy, but it will be packed properly, and it should arrive
safely. Remember all pressure vessels are DG, regardless of contents.

As a Hydraulic type of bloke I was merely pointing at a supply for a
cap, the fact that it could be contaminated with oil eluded me. To then
put that oily cap on an empty bottle also seems tame, explosive wise but
residue being aptly named, who knows where said oil could be at filling
time! Thankyou, Lucas, for erring on the side of safety, and pointing
this danger out. NEVER EVER HAVE OIL or petroleum based products NEAR
OXYGEN yes, shouting. regards Wayne
