Since I started posting regular weather forecasts for Darling Downs, I
have had a number of people want to start doing the same thing in their
own area and ask me for guidance. So I have put together the following

I should explain that I am an amateur at meteorology (albeit one with a
lifetime's interest not only in the subject but in the Maths and Physics
that goes into understanding and forecasting the weather). I do not
profess to be an expert and if I am making any mistakes, I'd love for
them to be corrected.
Part of what I am trying to do is to increase the general understanding
of meteorology in the gliding fraternity - and I hope that people are
finding the more general, theory oriented articles of help.
