Geoff,
We all joined the other 2 Million Australian's who had other
priorities on Saturday and voted early.
It was not as good as we had hoped; the system did not set up until later in
the day; one member got to
22,000ft but it a struggle; his low point was approx 1000ft over the
airfield. Launches later in the day
when the system had stabilized had some success in making contact.
As one of our members keeps saying; Rule No 1 - Be there; It was an
interesting day.

Hi Stuart,
How did Saturday go? We launched two gliders from Ararat on Friday
but both got beaten back by low level cloud and squalls. I flew on
Saturday to 17,000 ft in weak conditions then had to land and race
back to Melbourne to vote. It might have gone to 20K.
See you in September.
Regards,
Geoff V
