In June the BoM introduced its new numerical model and at the same time
provided new interactive maps and charts that allow you to look up to 7
days ahead.
I've been using these tools as part the input to my regular gliding
forecast and I thought that people might be interested in learning about
them. So I've written a short article about the basic charts I use. It
also covers some (necessary) theory in a basic fashion for geopotential
heights and jet streams.
