Anyone can have an accident. Christopher, I'm not a fan of the old blue Autoflug system either, and have removed them from several gliders in favour of a 5-point Gadringer or Schroth. For me the clumsy Autoflug won't tighten up, so the waist belt sits uncomfortably high. Those leather bits need to go for a start. There was a newer type (rotating release) Autoflug in the AS-H26 I had, but we couldn't find a 5th point for it so it was changed to Schroth. We put a 5th point in the Libelle last year and the AS-W27 will get a new 5 point this annual (form 2 equivalent). Urban myth: If you're hanging upside down from an old Autoflug, you can't get out of it. It appears to be true fiddling with it right-side-up on the ground. Anybody test it inverted? Jim
